Bunun da bir\u00e7ok \u00e7e\u015fitli nedeni vard\u0131r. Her \u015feyden \u00f6nce bahse konu olan yerle\u015fim yerinin tarih\u00e7esi \u00e7ok eskilere gidiyorsa, kesinlikle de\u011fi\u015fik dillerde farkl\u0131 telaffuz ve yaz\u0131l\u0131\u015f \u015fekilleri ile birden fazla ada sahip oldu\u011funu g\u00f6rmek m\u00fcmk\u00fcnd\u00fcr. Mesela \u0130stanbul tarihte Byzantion, Augusta Antonina, Nova Roma, Konstantinopolis veya Konstantiniyye gibi isimler ile var olmu\u015ftur. Daha ba\u015fka bir \u00f6rnek de Bitlis i\u00e7in verilebilir ki bu kadim \u015fehir de tarih boyunca\u00a0Balaison, Babaleison, Bale\u015f, Badlis, Page\u015f, Bage\u015f, Karduman, Bedl\u00ees ve Bil\u00ees gibi farkl\u0131 isimler ile an\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Yerle\u015fim yerlerinin farkl\u0131 isimler almas\u0131ndaki en b\u00fcy\u00fck neden, o diyarlarda ya\u015fam\u0131\u015f, oralardan ge\u00e7mi\u015f ya da belli d\u00f6nemler i\u00e7inde o m\u0131nt\u0131kalarda h\u00fck\u00fcm s\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015f topluluklar\u0131n\/h\u00fck\u00fcmdarlar\u0131n o mekanlara kendi dillerinde verdikleri isimler ile alakal\u0131d\u0131r. G\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde resmi olarak Diyarbak\u0131r ad\u0131 ile bilinen \u015fehrin bu isim ile ilk defa an\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131n tarih\u00e7esi ise Atat\u00fcrk\u2019\u00fcn tren ile 1937 y\u0131l\u0131nda Malatya\u2019dan gelerek \u015fehri ziyaretindeki \u201920 y\u0131l sonra Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019da bulunuyorum\u2019\u00a0s\u00f6zleri ile ba\u015flar. Bu yeni isim tesad\u00fcfen s\u00f6ylenmi\u015f de\u011fildi. Diyarbekir ziyareti \u00f6ncesi Atat\u00fcrk ve yaverlerinin G\u00fcne\u015f Dil Teorisi \u00e7er\u00e7evesinde Diyarbekir isminin T\u00fcrk\u00e7e ile uyu\u015fmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 hususunda tart\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 \u00fczerine Atat\u00fcrk taraf\u0131ndan al\u0131nm\u0131\u015f bir karar neticesinde sarf edilmi\u015fti. Bu tart\u0131\u015fma sonras\u0131 trenin ilk dura\u011f\u0131 olan Ergani\u2019ye var\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda,\u00a0ba\u015fyaver S\u00fcreyya Anderiman\u00a0T\u00fcrk Dil Kurumu Genel Sekreteri \u0130brahim Necmi Dilmen\u2019e \u2019Acele\u2019 ibaresiyle bir telgraf g\u00f6nderir:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cD.Bekir \u015fehrinin isminin etimolojisine dair et\u00fct var m\u0131d\u0131r? Esasta bu \u015fehrin ismi \u2018Bak\u0131r memleketi\u2019 manas\u0131na olan \u2018Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019 olmas\u0131 gerektir ve art\u0131k bu isimle tan\u0131nacakt\u0131r. Dil Kurumu\u2019nun bu hususta Tarih Kurumu ile i\u015f birli\u011fi yaparak, historik ve leng\u00fcistik tetkikatta bulunmas\u0131 emrediliyor. Bal\u0131kesir saylav\u0131 \u0130smail Hakk\u0131\u2019n\u0131n da mesai birli\u011fine davet edilmesi faydal\u0131 olacakt\u0131r. Tetkikat\u0131n titizlikle yap\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131 ve m\u00fcmk\u00fcn ise neticelerin takiben bildirilmesini sayg\u0131lar\u0131mla dilerim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bak\u0131r madeni ve de ak\u0131llara ziyan G\u00fcne\u015f Dil Teorisi ile alakas\u0131 olmayan Diyarbekir ismi, g\u00f6nderilen telgraf sonras\u0131 toplanan T\u00fcrk Dil Kurumu ve ekiplerini hummal\u0131 bir \u2018gerek\u00e7e\/kaynak\u2019 aray\u0131\u015f\u0131na iter. Diyarbak\u0131r ismini bir \u015fekilde bak\u0131r madeni ve T\u00fcrk\u00e7e ile ili\u015fkilendirmek mecburiyeti s\u00f6z konusudur. K\u0131sa zaman i\u00e7erisinde bir karara vard\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 kurumun Haziran 1938\u2019de yay\u0131mlad\u0131klar\u0131 dergiden \u00f6\u011freniyoruz:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2019<\/em><em>Al\u0131nan telgraf sonras\u0131\u00a0<\/em><em>T\u00fcrk Dil Kurumu ile Tarih Kurumu ortak toplant\u0131 yapt\u0131.<\/em><em>\u00a0Toplant\u0131y\u0131 a\u00e7an Prof. Abd\u00fclkadir \u0130nan<\/em><em>\u201cAld\u0131\u011f\u0131m emir \u00fczerine \u2018Diyarbekir\u2019 ve \u2018Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019 kelimeleri \u00fczerine ilimizde bulunan mehazlarda ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar yapt\u0131m. Ald\u0131\u011f\u0131m neticenin \u00fc\u00e7 saat zarf\u0131nda yap\u0131lan bir tetkikin mahsul\u00fc oldu\u011funu dikkat nazar\u0131n\u0131za alarak kusurlar\u0131m\u0131n aff\u0131n\u0131 da \u00f6nce dilerim\u201d diye ba\u015flad\u0131.<br \/>\n\u0130nan o g\u00fcnlerde pop\u00fcler olan \u201cG\u00fcne\u015f Dil Teorisi\u2019ne g\u00f6re \u201cDiyarbekir\u201din \u201cBak\u0131r Diyar\u0131\u201d anlam\u0131nda kullan\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 kan\u0131s\u0131ndayd\u0131.<br \/>\n\u015eehrin eski ad\u0131 olan \u201cAmida\u201d s\u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fcn Yakut l\u00fcgatinde \u201cBak\u0131r sikke\u201d anlam\u0131 ta\u015f\u0131d\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, \u201cDiyar\u201d s\u00f6zc\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fcn de Yakut\u00e7ada \u201cev\u201d manas\u0131na \u201cdier\u201dden geldi\u011fini belirtti\u2026.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Komisyon 19 Kas\u0131m g\u00fcn\u00fc i\u015fini bitirdi ve \u015fu karara vard\u0131:<\/em><em><br \/>\n\u201c\u2018Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019 kelimesinin \u2018bak\u0131r\u2019 anlam\u0131na gelen eski T\u00fcrk\u00e7e \u2018amiday\u2019 terc\u00fcmesi oldu\u011funa tetkikler neticesinde tam kanaat has\u0131l olmu\u015ftur. \u0130lkin \u2018bak\u0131r diyar\u0131\u2019 anlam\u0131yla \u2018Amiday\u2019 denen bu yerlere sonradan gelen T\u00fcrkler, bu eski T\u00fcrk s\u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fc \u2018bak\u0131reli\u2019 manas\u0131yla \u2018Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019 \u015fekline koymu\u015flar ve bu s\u00f6z de sonradan Arap dili gayretiyle ve avam etimolojisiyle \u2018Diyar\u0131 Bekir\u2019 \u015feklini alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.\u201d<br \/>\nProf. Uzun\u00e7ar\u015f\u0131l\u0131, kentin ad\u0131 \u201cDiyarbak\u0131r\u2019a \u00e7evrilse de halk a\u011fz\u0131nda yine \u201cDiyar\u0131 Bekir\u201d k\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131na girme ihtimalinden s\u00f6z etti:<br \/>\n\u201cNas\u0131l \u2018Tunceli\u2019 diyorsak, buraya da \u2018Bak\u0131reli\u2019 diyelim\u201d dedi.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDiyarbak\u0131r S\u00f6z\u00fc \u00dczerine Tetkik Komisyonu\u201d kuruldu.<\/em><em><br \/>\nKomisyon \u00fcyeleri Prof. Hasan Re\u015fit Tankut, Prof. \u0130smail Hakk\u0131 Uzun\u00e7ar\u015f\u0131l\u0131, Prof. Yusuf Ziya \u00d6zer, Prof. Abd\u00fclkadir \u0130nan, Ahmet Cevat Emre ve M\u00fckrimin Halil Yinan\u00e7\u2019t\u0131\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ayn\u0131 y\u0131llarda (30\u2019lu y\u0131llar) Diyarbekir ad\u0131n\u0131n \u2019O\u011fuzeli\u2019 ile de\u011fi\u015ftirilmesi teklifi dahi yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r ki bu teklifi o d\u00f6nem \u015fehirde Diyarbekir Gazetesi\u2019ni de \u00e7\u0131karan Diyarbekirli Tahsin Cahit \u00c7ubuk\u00e7u yapm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Her ne kadar teklifini onay i\u00e7in meclise g\u00f6ndermi\u015fse de bu teklif ciddiye al\u0131nmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Diyarbekir ismi \u00e7ok b\u00fcy\u00fck bir b\u00f6lgeyi kapsarken di\u011fer tan\u0131mlamalar \u015fehir merkezini\/Suri\u00e7i\u2019ni kapsamaktayd\u0131.\u00a0Diyarbekir isminin kapsad\u0131\u011f\u0131 co\u011frafya ta A\u015fa\u011f\u0131 Mezopotamya\u2019ya kadar indi\u011finden, baz\u0131 K\u00fcrdlerin o b\u00f6lgenin g\u00fcneyi i\u00e7in \u201cArabistan\u201d dediklerini \u00fcnl\u00fc ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131 diplomat M. Yunus Nebi\u2019ye iman getirip M\u00fcslime oldu. Gayet zengine idi ki binlerce Karun hazinesine ve Efrasiy\u00e2b mal\u0131na sahip idi. Hazret-i Yunusun \u00f6\u011fretmesiyle o melike bu Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019\u0131 sert kara ta\u015ftan F\u0131skayas\u0131\u2019nda yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in o k\u0131z\u0131n ad\u0131yla adlan\u0131p \u0130ran tarih\u00e7ileri \u201cDiyar-\u0131 Bikr\u201d derler, yani \u201cK\u0131z \u015eehri\u201ddir. Sonras\u0131nda Halep\u2019i de ald\u0131 ki bu zaferi \u015eam\u2019\u0131n \u00fcnl\u00fc \u015fairi taraf\u0131ndan methedildi. 1186 y\u0131l\u0131nda ise Diyarbekir\u2019i alarak krall\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131n\u0131\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tarih\u00e7i ve dilbilimc, Sir W. Besant, 1871<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kas\u0131m 1928 tarihi itibariyle yeni alfabede (Latin Alfabesi) yay\u0131mlanan mecmua ve gazetelerde de Diyarbekir\u2019in eski isminin AMED oldu\u011funu a\u00e7\u0131klayan ibareleri \u00e7e\u015fitli haber ve makalelere g\u00f6rebiliyoruz. Buna bir \u00f6rnek 6 \u015eubat 1933 y\u0131l\u0131nda Son Posta Gazetesi\u2019nin 4. Bu konuyla ilgili resmi kurum ve kurulu\u015flar haz\u0131rl\u0131klar ve \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar yaparak teklifler haz\u0131rl\u0131yorlard\u0131. 1937 \u00f6ncesi, yani ta 1933 y\u0131l\u0131nda Diyarbekir isminin de\u011fi\u015ftirilmesi teklifinin verilmi\u015f olmas\u0131 bunun a\u00e7\u0131k bir \u00f6rne\u011fidir.<\/p>\n<p>1930\u2019lu y\u0131llar\u0131n \u00fcnl\u00fc roman ve hik\u00e2ye yazarlar\u0131ndan biri olan Orhan Rahmi G\u00f6k\u00e7e de 17 Nisan 1938 tarihli Anadolu Gazetesi i\u00e7in kaleme ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u2018Tarihten Bir Yaprak- Amed K\u0131zlar\u0131\u2019 adl\u0131 anlat\u0131m\u0131nda, Diyarbekir i\u00e7in \u2018\u015fehrin eski ad\u0131 Amed\u2019dir\u2019 a\u00e7\u0131klamas\u0131n\u0131 yapm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
